Jeannie Santos

Jeannie grew up in Cranford, New Jersey and loving horses from the moment she was born, started riding at seven years old, at the famous Watchung Stables. Troopers had to wear old fashioned jodhpurs, sky blue button down collared shirts and yellow ties. Troop went from D to A, A being jumpers. Jeannie only made it to C because her mother didn't want her to jump. Instead she switched to Western and spent her youth trail riding bareback through the Watchung Reservation (now Route 78) with her Quarter Horse Major.
After graduating high school, she entered the work force, giving up horses for many years. She finally got back into riding in the late 90's. By now, living and working in New York City, she started out at Claremont stables on W. 89th riding through Central Park, but that wasn't enough and soon she started doing the hunters, and then found her way to dressage in 2002.
She trained with Lendon Gray who found her Trakehner mare, Elzaphan for her. After leaving Lendon's, she went to train with Gabriel Armando for two years. Always a fan of Dr. Parra's, she decided to take the step of training with him at his barn and joined Piaffe Performance in April of 2005.
In September of 2005, one of Dr. Parra's clients had just found an impressive Rheinlander named Ghosbuster in Germany, so he arranged for her to buy him and she is now his proud owner and looking forward eagerly to the future with Piaffe Performance, and Ghostbuster.
